Berlin Blackwork

Meine erste Tätowierung habe ich 1994 noch während meines Industrie-Design Studiums angefertigt und eröffnete 1996 mit meinem Freund Mario das Blut und Eisen.Mit einer sehr spannenden Mischung an Kunden u.a. aus dem Berliner Nachtleben konnte ich früh große und ungewöhnliche Projekte realisieren, die jenseits der traditionellen Tätowiermotive lagen.Es gefällt mir besonders, mit der Tätowierung die Wirkung des ganzen Körpers oder einzelner Körperteile zu verändern.

Tattoostile

Ich liebe grosse Freehand Blackwork Designs angelehnt an Südsee, Samoa, Marquesa, Maorie, Ainu, Kalinga, Borneo, Inuit, Keltische, Skytische usw. Motive gerne auch gekreuzt mit mystischen Symbolen und westlichen/fernöstlichen Ornamenten, Schriften, sowie alte und neue Woodcut, Holzschnitt, Kupferstich Darstellungen, Tier- und Pflanzenwelt, Mythologische Szenen und Kreaturen.

 

I did my first tattoo in 1994 while I was studying industrial design. In 1996, I opened Blut und Eisen together with my friend Mario.
Thanks to an exciting and diverse mix of clients – many of them from Berlin‘s nightlife scene, I was able to realize large and unique projects early on, often far removed from traditional tattoo motifs. What fascinates me most is how tattooing can change the appearance and impact of the entire body or specific body parts.

I love creating large-scale freehand blackwork designs inspired by traditional patterns from the South Pacific, Samoa, Marquesas, Maori, Ainu, Kalinga, Borneo, Inuit, Celtic,  Scythians Motifs also crossed with mystical symbols, Western and Far Eastern ornamentation, scripts, as well as old and new woodcuts, engravings, depictions of animals and plants, and mythological scenes and creatures.
